Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effects of AB Mix nutrient concentration, mustard green varieties, and their interaction on the growth and yield of several mustard greens cultivated using the Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) hydroponic system. The experiment employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a factorial arrangement consisting of two factors: three AB Mix nutrient concentrations (N₁, N₂, and N₃) and three mustard green varieties (pakcoy, caisim, and kailan), with three replications. Observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, root length, fresh weight, and consumable weight. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% significance level when significant differences were detected. The results showed that AB Mix nutrient concentration significantly affected most growth and yield parameters. Mustard green variety also had a significant effect on all observed parameters, with caisim producing the best growth and yield compared with pakcoy and kailan. The interaction between AB Mix nutrient concentration and mustard green variety generally had no significant effect on plant growth and yield, except for root length at the third week after planting. Overall, the highest AB Mix nutrient concentration (N₃) and the caisim variety produced the best growth and yield under the NFT hydroponic system.
